I need help. I have a client, that wants their sales people in the field, to connect via VPN to an Internal website. i can't figure out how to have the ipad use the vpn address in Safari instead of the cellular networks. It is a small company that has a Fortigate 30E. They can connect via Forticlient but are still denied access since safari isnt using the internal IP address for browsing.

Not having (or wanting) an iPad here...you cannot type in an IP address into the address bar of the browser?
If you can, and the request is just dying then the routing is incorrect.
You could shed some light on this by providing more details on how you've set up the tunnel on the FGT side (by wizard? split tunnel? DHCP/static addresses for clients? etc.etc.)
Assuming everything else is configured correctly you may have to set the dns suffix as well in the cli. Otherwise internal dns may not resolve.
config vpn ssl settings
set dns-suffix example.company.net
end
