It' s still in progress. A beta release may come up before end of January. I don' t know a firm date, though.

btw FC MR7 Patch 5 Build 614 works correctly on WIN7

I am afraid there is still some culprit on WIN7. There are a lot of crash reports floating on the net. tdx.sys may crash if you have Anti-Virus software installed. The problem is a bug in WIN7' s tdx.sys driver. But triggered by these AntiVirus software. Like FortiClient, most AV software use some kind of network hook to monitor traffic. Most of them use TDI which is obsolete in WIN7. Win7 uses tdx.sys to translate TDI calls into the native supported APIs. Fortinet is working on a new solution to natively support WIN7. It should be ready before GA (final release).

How does one get into the beta program? i would like to test out FC 4.0.

It' s too late for beta. The final GA is just around the corner. Wait for a couple of more weeks and you should be able to see the public release.

if you load FortiOS 4.0 into a fortigate you can download a beta release from it using End-Point Compliance
