FortiAnalyzer total log count

There is an analyzer with version 7.0.13. When you search fortigate log for the last 7 days on Analyzer, pages of logs come up. However, there is no total log count for the last 7 days anywhere on the page. How can I see the total number of traffic logs in any interval I enter.

When we click on the arrow in the seconds at the bottom right, after a while the total log comes up. This is ridiculous!

To view the total number of traffic logs over a specific interval in FortiAnalyzer (version 7.0.13), you may notice that the total log count is not explicitly displayed on the log search pages by default. However, you can find this information through other means.

Here is how you can view the total log count for traffic logs in FortiAnalyzer:

1. Using Log Search:

  • Log Search Query: In FortiAnalyzer, when you search for logs in the Log & Report section, you will see pages of logs based on the time interval you select. While the total log count isn’t directly displayed, you can estimate the number of logs based on the number of pages and entries per page.

  • How to Count Logs:

    1. Go to Log & Report.
    2. Select Log Search and enter the desired time range (e.g., last 7 days).
    3. After the search results are displayed, you can look at the number of pages (e.g., Page 1 of 20). Multiply the number of pages by the number of logs per page (usually 50 logs per page, by default). This gives you an estimate of the total number of logs in that period.
