Found a FortiAnalyser in our store room, trying to set up. Instructions says to plug laptop into a port on back and give self a 192.168.1.* address and connected to the analyser on 192.168.1.99.
I've tried this on all 5 RJ45 sockets on the back of the box. No connection.
I've ran wireshark while plugged in to each port to see if arping out, no look.
I've plugged a keyboard and monitor in, get the post on the screen then that's it, keyboard doesn't work.
Not under support, think it was a freebie chucked in at some point .
Any help much appreciated.

You won't be able to connect via TCP/IP if the firmware has been deleted. But the console port should always work.
I use HyperTerm for this, and the RJ45-DB9 cable supplied with the FGT/FAZ.
When powered up, you should see at least some boot messages. From there, you can upload a firmware image. But to get an image from support.fortinet.com, you need a valid support contract.
So, there is no easy fix.
and...really a 400E? not 400B or 400?
Cheers, tried that, no look, no response on port.
Changed keyboard to look at boot settings but require boot option for F11
cheers
