FortiAP solid orange power LED

My FortiAP is plugged into a Dell Switch and the Power LED is solid orange
The manual says 'reserved for customizations' - what does that mean?

I cannot access my AP as still shows offline on Fortigate

My AP is a 231F

My POE+ switch is an N3024EP-ON

Thanks

It may be an indication that the AP is not able to get a valid IP address from DHCP and is not able to reach the FGT. Can you verify if you see the MAC address of the AP in the switch port and is it in the right access VLAN?

Also make sure you have enabled 'Security Fabric Connection' in the interface of the FGT under 'Administrative Access'.

I had our managed service look at this today and they think it's because our router isn't routing traffic on the VLAN specified.
Does this sound right?

Our router/gateway is managed by another company and is very difficult to get them to make any changes.

After endless googling i've not read anything about having to do this on any routers?

Thanks

If the router is placed between the AP and the FGT and is not providing IP connectivity between these nodes, than yes it can prevents the CAPWAP tunnel to be established.

I will check this next time I troubleshoot as it's nowhere near me.
We have 3 VLAN's, the fortigate AP interface VLAN (native) then the 2 VLANs for the SSID's
These are all attached to the port in the Dell switch

Yet when I plug it in - solid orange light on power - can't even ping it from the Fortigate

Yep the SFC is enabled on the interface
Must be DHCP - just cannot see what i'm missing :(
