Hi All,
We were trying to upgrade our FortiAP from v5.0.10 to v5.0.11 on FAP 220B. After a success upgrade, we found the radio 1 (5 GHz Band) show 0. Then, we try to downgrade back to v5.0.10, the 5G channel can be shown correctly.
Then, we try to upgrade to 5.2.7 to see whether the "channel 0" problem can be fixed or not but it's also show "channel 0"
Did anyone has this experience?
We are using fortigate 80C (fortiOS 5.0.14) as wireless controller.
Cheers,
Halu
Today i tried on another unit, Fortigate 200B with fortiOS 5.2.13 and upgrade one of our AP to 5.2.7
The radio 1 (5G) 's channel show 0 too. and SSID on that interface didn't show too.
This could happen if you are trying to set a channel which AP doesn't support. You can check whether there is any configuration difference. Also, you can use commands
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c wtp <serial number of problematic AP>
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c ws <IP of that AP>
Thanks for the reply. tried to check the AP with the command
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c wtp <serial>
One of the strange thing is the country name and code! As we are using it in china and other working AP show CN in country_name
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c ws <ip of ap>
and the radio status of radio 1 is down.
Is it that firmware (5.2.7) not good for FortiAP 220B?
Our FortiAP 220B is working good with "v5.0.10"
This confirms that AP country code setting is not consistent on WTP profile and physical AP itself. Sometimes country code mappings might get changed between releases to accommodate regulation changes . You might need to contact Fortinet support to check the region code setting on the AP.
