FortiAP 5.2.1 with WEP?

Hi Guys, did Fortinet cancel their Support for WEP Encryption on FortiAPs with the new version? I got a message from a customer who is managing his devices himself but didn' t see anything in the release notes regarding this issue. If it' s true is there any possibily to still use WEP encryption? Thanks & Kind Regards, Stefan

WEP is CLI only.... VERY insecure.

I got legacy machines that only can run wep. I need it. Well I can' t even use it in the cli... set security open Open. captive-portal Captive portal. wpa-personal WPA/WPA2 personal. wpa-personal+captive-portal WPA/WPA2 personal with captive portal. wpa-enterprise WPA/WPA2 enterprise. wpa2-only-personal WPA2 personal. wpa2-only-personal+captive-portal WPA2 personal with captive portal. wpa2-only-enterprise WPA2 enterprise. Does it have to be re-enabled in the sysconfig or something?

try: set security-obsolete-option enable then you should see the wep options

Thanks, where can i type this in the config? In config wireless-controller global? I couldnt type it in right now or atleast the Forti didn' t want it :(

you can use this command ' security-obsolete-option enable ' in vap profile after you can see the all security type. see below example.

(root)# config wireless-controller  vap

(vap)# edit 1

(1) # set security-obsolete-option enable <---------no shortcuts

(1) # set security ?
