The workaround until forti will fix is to add Access Point network to trusthost on the admin account.
For me the workaround is worked.
But better open support case to get online update directly form Forti Support.
Just to understand the solution,
The work around is connect forti FAP directly to FGT?
thanks.
For me it sounds like, that the solution is to use a spare Fortigate with an older firmware only for the FAP's.
At the end - no solution at all...
I have 48 FAP221E units - will be avoiding 6.2.1 then!
Any news? Would be nice to know if Fortinet is working on a fix.

Same issue here.
after update my Forti 100E 6.2.1 the AP didn't recognize
the solution of Ruslan worked for me! thanks!
i will open a ticket to let fortinet know
Same issue here. I am not running FOrtiAP's but do have one 421E that I wanted to test with. As soon as I authorize it, it goes to "disconnected", even though I can SSH to the AP itself and from the AP I can ping the gateway.
If you have 421E it's it's FortiAP,
What version do you have on 421e? What FortiOS version your running on you fortigate firewall?
I am running FP421E-v6.2-build0246
Fortigates and Fortiswitches are running 6.2.1 as well. Adding the AP management network to the trusted host of the admin account worked for me. The AP is now connected an operational.
Great, Glad that the solution worked for you.
If you can open case in forti like we did,
That they can fix this ASAP.
