My customer forgot admin's password(super admin) and he only know of credential for read access .
Is there a way to recover the admin password ?
If the fortigate has to be reset to default, is there a way to do backup ?

Hey Aung,
there isn't really a way to recover a lost admin password, but there is a reset procedure (this does involve a reboot).

If you only have read-access to the FortiGate at the moment, you can maybe take a backup via FortiGate GUI (not entirely sure on this); if so, this option should be in the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner.
Hi Debbie, I tried to reset password using the method the you advised.
But the system show as login incorrect.
Username : maintainer
password : bcpbFGT80ETKxxxxxxx
pls take note theres a certain timing to keyin those information. so much better have it on notepad and do the magic trick which copy and paste approach to speed up the process. the solution provided was official and thats the only way on how to reset the password. pls perform after the fresh reboot.
