Forcing wifi clients to change AP
Hello, we are having trouble with wifi clients clinging on to APs too far away.
We are unable to modify the local Windows roaming aggressiveness settings.
What options do we have via ForitWifi to force clients to disassociate with an AP if they are connecting at too low RSSI signal strength?

The main decision is up to the STA but also the APs can affect this behavior, station signal strength is checked and the AP this is far away is forced to go silent. There are a few techniques shown here like 'Ignoring weak or distant clients', 'Configuring data rates (removing low speeds)', disable old protocols (a/b/g) etc.
If you have found a solution, please like and accept it to make it easily accessible for others.

I would recommend 2 things:
1. Turning down the transmit power of your APs. We have a dense deployment in a high school, there is an AP in every room and we run the transmit power at 7dbm
2. Enable the 'remove sticky client' option in the advanced section of your SSID settings.
The link below talks about how to enable it with the CLI, but you can also turn it on via the GUI if you have WIFI advanced features turned on in your Fortigate settings.
2.
