FGVM64 log Limitations and disk logging

Good Day,

I am assigned to administer and give  advice on a previously configured fortigate, please assist with any of the following Questions

1. noticed I am unable to enable learning mode on the VM (no option) I was hoping to eventually enable IPS policies

2. log settings on all remote options greyed out on the VM firewall but available under Global log settings

3. had DoS attacks detected, which increased CPU on the fortigate, tried to configure IPV4 Dos policies but then fortigate blocked legitimate traffic .

I would love to get to a point where i can provide reporting and have all UTM features enabled :( if possible
