FG52E VPN Keep alive

Is there a way to keep a active VPN connection on a FG52E  permanent alive even when there is no traffic?

Thanks again for your support. I have disabled the dead peer detection and enabled the keep alive.

The background is I have written a small app for a customer. The app just does start, stop, output a user message when no internet is detected and close the app . But it's annoying when the VPN disconnects time out and the app is still running because I'm unable to tell the app detect the disconnection of the VPN connection and output a time out user message.
