External Fabric Connector Issue

Hi Team,

I have multiple URL's and thousands of IP's which i have added through IIS server in the below directory

C:\inetpub\wwwroot which is synced successful but un fortunately i can able to add only IP.htm into the Destination  but url.htm not found during my search.

I kept both URL and IP in different HTM icons on the same folder edited with Note++ and saved .please suggest to fix this issue.

What if that iis server down still the Address Object which i created will be there in firewall as a cache or always the iis server should be running.

Appreciate your prompt response.

I am not sure 100% I understood what is the problem, so with this disclaimer:

  • URLs/Domains - you cannot use these in Destination field of Security Rules, only IP addresses though.  Also it depends on your firmware version. E.g. for 6.2 https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.2.0/cookbook/9463/threat-feeds
  • Yes, naturally FGT caches the feed but I don't know for how much time and what happens once the feed source is down for good. This would be interesting to know, may be FTNT folks here will be able to clarify.
