Extending hard disk size in FortiPAM VM

Could someone guide me on the correct process to extend the FortiPAM VM hard disk size and allocate the extra space to the system? Are there any specific commands or steps required within FortiPAM to recognize and use the new disk space after increasing virtual disk size in ESXi

Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Shutdown your VM
  2. Extend disk (e.g.: from 30GB to 40GB)
  3. Then power on the VM

Once powered-on FPAM will extend the FS automatically.

Tested successfully on FPAM 1.4.1.

I am using FortiPAM 1.5.0, and after extending the disk space in the VM, the change is not reflected in FortiPAM.

When you edit the FPAM VM there should be 3 disks:

  • 2GB: FPAM OS
  • 30GB: Log
  • 30GB: Video

So you should increase the size of the 30GB disks.

I have increased the size of the hard disk used for video storage. When listing the available disks, the system now shows Disk HD2 with a total size of 50.0 GiB. However, the partition mounted for video i.e. PAMVIDEOB4BE9A2F still shows 29.4 GB. And also in the GUI section i.e. disk usages shows the total video disk size as 29.4

execute disk format id (16 or 32)

note that this will format your disk and you will lose your existing videos.
