Does it have any negative effects on Fortigate device and if so, are there any solutions?

Could you let us know if the log usage you are referring to is from the Log Settings page --> Disk Usage?
Kindly elaborate a little more about this situation and we will have a check on it once and suggest you accordingly.
By default, FortiGate will store logs for last 7 days and it would utilize the space as per the log-disk-quota settings.
If you have configured log forwarding to either FortiGate Cloud or FortiAnalyzer, then it should not affect. Kindly confirm on the same
