Establishing a SSLVPN connection before Windows Login with new SSLVPN client

We are using the standalone SSLVPN client (NOT the full Forticlient). With version 2294 of the client we had an icon on the Windows login screen to establish a connection. When installing the newest 2303 version the icon is gone. Has this feature been removed?

Did you ever have this working? I see the adapter on the new machines I'm installing, but can't get it to connect without the app. Is there a way to enable the adapter without starting the Forticlient SSLVPN app?
