Error downloading license: Invalid serial number
Hi, trying to activate VM evaluation license (using Foricare account) but I get the error "Error downloading license: Invalid serial number". Other questions in the forum didn't help.
Image downloaded: FGT_VM64-v7.2.4.F-build1396-FORTINET.out.ovf
No other evaluation license requested.
The VM has ping to Internet:

I was using VirtualBox to run the virtual machine. For some reason, the serial number generated is FGVMEV0000000000 and invalid.
I retried the same VM with VMware Player and the serial numbers was generated correctly and could install the license.
Thanks for your help!

The serial number "FGVMEV0000000000" looks invalid. Can you try deploying a new VM and try?

Hi Josear,
Hope you are doing good.
To activate the VM trial license from FortiCare you can use below method:
execute vm-license-options account-id xxxx@fortinet.com
execute vm-license-options account-password xxxxxxx
If the above procedure doesn't works, you can try to download the license file manually and then upload it on the VM. Kindly check below link for more details:

Parteek
