Enable IMAP
Anyone have any tips or a tutorial for opening the ports for IMAP?
The manuals aren' t real clear on this.
Fortigate-60
I totally adore this product. I just wish the manual was a bit more clear on this.
Got a user with an Iphone so I thought I would try enabling IMAP for her.
I went into FIREWALL > POLICY.
CREATE NEW
SOURCE>ZONE: WAN1
ADDY NAME: ALL
INTERFACE>ZONE:Internal
ADDRESS NAME: (this is my mail server internal addy? So I should CREATE NEW?)
SERVICE: IMAP
Do I HAVE to turn anything else on?
Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and found nothing.
And since my support contract ran out, I have been trying to figure this out on my own. Fortinet was supposed to contact me about renewing my support contract, but strangely I never heard from them. Ah.... the joys of using resellers. ;)
Anyway... I appreciate ANY help. Great product you have here.

You need define a VIP for this task and configure it within that firewall policy
It' s a very basic thing;
Search the VIP through the docs at http://docs.forticare.com/fgt.html
Specially, " FortiGate Administration Guide"
If you run firmware 3.0, you' ll finde useful:
# SOHO and SMB Configuration Example Guide
http://docs.forticare.com/fgt/techdocs/FortiGate_Example_SOHO_01-30004-0062-20070115.pdf
If you run firmware 2.80,
http://kc.forticare.com/default.asp?id=426&Lang=1&SID=
Doing a search throughout http://kc.forticare.com
you have another link you can adapt to your need:

Fantastic, thank you. We have 3.0. I have the admin guide, but the link you gave me is what I needed.
The router I had at my last job was really a glorified Linksys consumer router.
I really can' t recommend this Fortigate-60 enough. QUALITY product. ;)
