Email's Sender's IP

Hi,

I have a FortiGate 30E running FortiOS 6.2.

We have our own mail server inside FortiGate 30E.

Recently we found that the sender's IP of email is the 192.168.0.1, and is not the public one.

We are wondering if it is possible for us to adjust the setting in Fortigate and make the sender's IP the public IP?

Ps.  We have turned NAT off, but it still shows 192.168.0.1 as the sender's IP.

Can you explain more please?

Is 192.168.0.1 the IP of your FortiGate's internal interface?

Where did you find this private IP? In the mail headers or while sniffing traffic?

If in the IP headers, was it on the e-mails that you received on your server or sent from your server?

Any other useful details are welcome.

The real source IP will be displayed if you are connecting to the mail server from within the corporate network and have NAT turned off. Please describe the situation in detail and the specifications you need.
