Email alert when switching to another real server

Hi,

In virtual server setting, if there are two real server configured and the load balancing method is configured as "First Alive". May I know any email alert can be sent when switching to another real server (e.g. the original server A is down)?

We can use the automation stitch to trigger the email alert based on the event log generated for the server down event.

Hi Suraj,

Thanks for your reply, I have tried to add automation rule with event log alert "VIP real server disabled". I expected that I can receive email when I disable one of real server but no luck. Is any further setting I need to conduct?

We need to configure the trigger (VIP real server disabled) , action (email).

Need to make sure the email settings are correct - ref : https://help.fortinet.com/fos60hlp/60/Content/FortiOS/fortigate-system-administration/Monitoring/Ale...

Also, do you see the "VIP real server disabled" event under logs >system events?

For testing the email alert, we may use some other logs like login/logut events as trigger and then change the event to the LB log.
