I would just like some insight on what would be the effects on the production if DNS Cache on FortiGate was executed?

Would it be service affecting?

Hello

In my experience we don't feel any impact.

If your dns server is performing well and FG doesn't have to refresh thousands of dns entries at one time then there should be no major delay.
