DHCPv6 reservation v7.4.6
Hi,
I have a fortigate and managed fortiswitchs.
FG 80f version is v7.4.6
Fortiswitch 148f is v7.2.4
I have setup DHCPv6 on a VLAN and my devices are getting IPv6 addresses from DHCPv6.
I would like to reserve one of the devices so it will always receive the same IPv6 address.
I was unable to find a way to do it with IPv6. I do have the option to do it with IPv4.

Hi @jo1992 ,
DHCP6 has stateless and stateful 2 modes.
The Reservation Address is possible with the Stateful mode only and it is not based on MAC address. It should use DUID for it.
Please check RFC 8415 & RFC 6355 for more information.
I have no info about this feature in the new versions.

@dingjerry_FTNT Thank you, would you be able to provide some guidance on how to set it up?
I have set the DHCPv6 as stateful already

Hi @jo1992 ,
I did not mean that we have a Reservation Addresses function for DHCP6 if we use Stateful mode on FGT.
What I meant is, as per the RFC docs, it is possible to be implemented with DHCP6 Stateful mode. But this is up to the software vendors who will implement it.
Unfortunately, on FortiGate, even if we use Stateful mode, there is no Reservation Address yet.
