Hello, I am adding a FortiSwitch to a site that has a FortiGate and Cisco switches.
Here is the hardware:
1 FortiGate Firewall - installed and configured. (9 Months or so)
4 Cisco switch 3000 series.
The network is configured and working with Cisco Phones, computers, laptops, and large multifunction machines.
1 new FortiSwitch 248E FPOE.
Do I connect the FortiSwitch directly to the firewall and configure first before connecting to the Cisco switch.

Hi MichelleL,
Fortiswitch can be configured as a standalone device and can also be configured as a managed device with FGT.
Guides below would help in answering any queries you may have.
Standalone FSW: https://s3.amazonaws.com/fortinetweb/docs.fortinet.com/v2/attachments/d386850f-202f-11e9-b6f6-f8bc12...
FSW managed by FGT: https://fortinetweb.s3.amazonaws.com/docs.fortinet.com/v2/attachments/2f7d95c8-7367-11ea-9384-005056...
You can configure management access to switch without connecting to FGT if you are planning to use it as a standalone FSW.
Thanks,
Shahan
