Concept of Fortinet Mode

I'm unable to understand the following things as I'm a beginner at Fortinet firewall.

Could you please make me understand the below concept & how does it works actually?

1. NAT/Route mode
2. Transparent mode
3. Main mode
4. Aggressive mode

For question 3 and 4, im not sure if you are referring to VPN or other features.
