Client IPsec VPN on MacOS - can NOT save config

We are in the process of migrating from Forticlient SSL-VPN to IPsec VPN (over TCP443).
When I configure an IPsec VPN connection, I can't save the configuration; the "save" button doesn't work. An SSL-VPN configuration can be saved.
For the test, we're using a free version of Forticlient VPN, version 7.4.3.

I've also tried a previous version, 7.2.11. I've uninstalled it several times and also performed a manual cleanup of Forticlient files. As far as I can tell, I have all the permissions correct on macOS (Sequoia 15.6).

Fortinet support isn't helping because this test client doesn't have EMS.

So, I'm hoping this community can help me.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

hi,

not really, only those described in the link for special notes

General > Login Items and Extensions ( Allow in the background / Network extensions ) and in Privacy & security > Full disk access , to enable/allow FortiClient and/or fctservctl

Hi @funkylicious ,

You are using a macOS FCT 7.4.x full-version right? which is why you can receive IPsec over TCP config from EMS.

As per check internally, IPsec over TCP is completely disabled for macOS FCT free-version, however the feature is still available (for now) for Windows FCT free-version. Funny, I know.. :\

hi,

no, i'm using the free version that why I mentioned the fact that I dont see the option for IPsec over TCP in it, but I have seen it in EMS.

OP also mentioned that he doesnt use EMS, but he can't save a basic IPsec profile in FCT.

Thanks for your input. I believe OP should be able to save a basic regular IPsec VPN (IKEv1 or IKEv2), but not a [IPsec over TCP] tunnel <-- this is being placed behind a paywall of EMS license.

Bon

Hello btab,

I did all the things that funkylicious mentioned, but I am not able to save any basic regular IPsec VPN. The save button doesn't do anything.
