Check whether wan connection went down

I' m new to firewall configurations and checking logs etc. I need to find out if my internet went down in the past 30 days or so. I have a fortiwifi 60c and i know I can select log & report but what do I look for?

You can only tell this, if you have ping-servers defined for your WAN connections. Then you will have an entry about a ping server not being reachable and the interface therefore going down logically! br, Roman

If you have VPNs out over the WAN port and OSPF (possibly RIP as well), you can check the router monitor VPN up times. Any VPN with dynamic routing protocol(s) will go south with the WAN link and come back up shortly after.

I think every VPN out over the WAN port will go south with the link, even those without dynamic routing... But seriously, ' link down' is an event logged. If you' re using PPPoE or DHCP on the WAN port you' ll see the assignment as well. Logging level must be as low as ' information' , though.

All true, but the non-dynamic tunnels may not try to come back up instantaneously.

I really appreciate all the responses and the information. If I filter for link I don' t see any information under event log. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have attached a screenshot.

Not sure what firmware version and platform you are running. On 4.3.14, the output is as below:
