Cannot reach the FortiManager from same network

Hi Guys,

I'm testing the FortiManager 5.4 ( a new virtual machine ) right now. I placed it in the same network as the fortigate and fortianalyzer are running in production.

Somehow, I'm not able to ping / access HTTPS/HTTP the Fortimanager from the same network. But I AM able to access the fortigate and/or fortianalyzer.

The FortiManager is a brand new VM built from an OVF template ( same as FG and FA ). The steps I have done:

- Configured port 1 with an IP address and subnet mask ( same network as FG and FA: 172.17.20.0/24 )

- Configured a route ( same gateway as the FG and FA )

- Configured dns ( just 8.8.8.8 )

Somehow I'm not able to reach the fortimanager from ANY device.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Simon,

How do I do that?

The following is possible:

But it isn't even possible to ping another device in the same network/subnet.

edit: it works now. seems there is an error in port1, now I've configured port2 with the same settings... and it works now.

thanks guys for giving me tips
