Cannot access the internet after connecting to VPN

I connect to a VPN with a " Fortinet SSL VPN Client" installed as an Active-X module. After establishing a connection, I can' t surf the web at all. The VPN' s administrator said that the " Use default gateway on remote network" checkbox in the the fortissl->properties->networking->tcpip->properties->advanced must be disabled in order to allow normal internet access while connected to the VPN. The trouble is, whenever I connect, this checkbox is automatically re-enabled! Any idea what' s going on?

Try with something simpler: avoid browse the internet through your ssl tunnel (if you can obviously); enable " Allow Split Tunneling" feature in ssl-vpn user group config. You should reach your internal resources through sslvpn without interfere your browsing activity
