Can't ping default gateway on vlan interface
Hi anyone. We had Fortigate 100e and netgear GS724t switch. I am just testing the vlan interface going to netgear switch because this my first time to use it before I am using cisco products with fortigate and now I had aggregate port/LACP on my fortigate going to switch which are up and working and I setup the vlan(192.168.201.1/24) with the switch which working also because my laptop got the dhcp and has internet connection but my one big problem is I can't ping the default gateway of vlan interface which 192.168.201.1, is there any one experienced this kind of problem? Hope you can help me thanks in advance.

Hi, I cannot say it is very clear what you did. But, did you configure PING administrative access on the interface?

yes ofcourse also http, https and ssh are also enabled. But when I do ping it goes with RTO the sames also if I go for traceroute. I don't know why because they are on the same vlan 192.168.201.1/24 and the host with IP address 192.168.201.51 can't reach 192.168.201.1.

Is the Netgear switch smart enough to understand VLAN tags? Not all Netgears are created equally. I'm not a fan of Netgear myself.

I guess yes because it has LACP the only problem I got now are the host can't reach it's own default gateway and I am having a hard time to find a solution. I am not also kind fan of these switches it is really to old but these all I got.

check the ip configuration on the host, especialy the subnet mask;
check the arp table;
and try with one port only, without LACP.
