Can't create Geography address, country/region field is empty

Hi,

I'm using Fortigate-30E running FortiOS v6.2.16 build1392 (GA).

Not sure when it happened, but I can't create geography address anymore. It worked in the past.

As can be seen in the picture, the country/region field is empty with no entries.

Please advise,

Thanks, Ofir

Hi,

After I've opened a ticket, I received from Fortinet a custom build (FGT_30E-v6-build5262-FORTINET.out) which solved the problem after upgrading.

Hi Ofir

The shared doc is for 6.2.16.

Hi, So just to be clear (before formatting...), since I'm already with the latest firmware, Step 2: "Upgrade the FortiGate to the new firmware" is no longer possible for me and (it's probably already on V2?) cause I can't see other command for switching GeoIP DB V3->V2?

Thanks

AEK

Do you mean switching from v3 to v2 didn't work?

Can you share the output when you are trying to switch?

I mean that following: https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.2.16/fortios-release-notes/413989

Step 1: Since the initial state of the /data partition on the flash card is close to 100%, manually delete the GEOIP Database to avoid upgrade failure or loss of configuration files when upgrading the firmware:

Output:

FortiGate-30E # diagnose geoip delete-geoip-db
This operation will delete the Geoip Database and reboot the system!
Only super admin has the permission with the command.
Do you want to continue? (y/n)y

Admin:admin
Password: *********
Error: unable to delete the /etc/geoip_db.gz file. No such file or directory

Step 2: Upgrade the FortiGate to the new firmware. Once completed, the GEOIP V2 Database is installed. Verify the installation:

Since my machine is already with the most recent firmware, what can I do here?

Thanks

Hi, today I've formatted the device, installed the firmware using TFTP.

Same error :(

Hi Ofir

Sorry for that.

GeoIP v2 didn't work, reinstall FOS didn't work.. Last resort is to open a ticket.
