Blocking all web sites except those you specify using a whitelist

Hi all,

I'm running FOS 5.2.2, I would like to implement a whitelist with requested websites and block the rest. I followed cookbook with the recipe :) and everything works unless a website contains some embedded links to external resources which aren't included in whitelist. I think it's correct behaviour but is there any way to combat this and allow every embedded link, content etc.  after the initial link being allowed by whitelist?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, did you try to use wildcards for the URLs in the whitelist? Like *microsoft.com?

Thanks,

I don't think there is any way as for all those external links browser will send http get and webfilter will scan and match every http get and as those external urls are not in white list so they will be denied.

go to website and dig through logs.  white list the sites that were blocked in the logs, until the site works correctly.

For instance if you want a specific youtube video to go through you'll need the link to that video as well as googlevideo.com, mostly you'll just have to play with it.
