App Crash when trying to connect to VPN

I am having a problem where Forticlient gives me an App Crash error when trying to connect to our VPN. The error states that the FortiClient System Tray Controller has stopped working and gives me the details I' ve included below. I' ve tried 3 different versions of FortiClient, all with the same result. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit on an HP computer with an AMD Phenom II Triple-Core Processor. Windows firewalls are turned off. I performed a test on the connection and the test appeared to work fine. Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions as to what could be causing the errors below? Thanks for any help you can provide. *** With FortiClient v4.2.0.250 *** Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FortiTray.exe Application Version: 4.2.0.250 Application Timestamp: 4be9c958 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16559 Fault Module Timestamp: 4ba9b29c Exception Code: c0000008 Exception Offset: 00082528 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 *** With FortiClient v4.2.2.267 *** Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FortiTray.exe Application Version: 4.2.2.267 Application Timestamp: 4cc767d9 Fault Module Name: StackHash_0a9e Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00740073 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Lockdown: I have tried both WiFi and wired network with the same results. optimizzz: The VPN server is FortiGate. The FW version is " Fortigate-200A 3.00-b0740(MR7 Patch 4)" . Upgrading the FW isn' t an option at the moment. However, I am fairly certain that the FW is not the issue. Mine is the only client having this issue. It' s a new computer and a fresh install.
