Hello all! Is there anyway to alb fortigate like Cisco devices in GNS3/EVE-NG? My company isn't a partner and I've seen people get eval licenses of the VMs from their Forti Rep so was wondering if it's possible to lab/get an image of the device without being a partner?
Talk to the sales rep or a fortinet resellers< i am sure they can help you out
You can create an account in Fortinet and get a permanent trial FGT license (limited but good enough for lab testing) as shown here.
You have the option to download latest version of the Fortigate image from support site - you don't need to be partner or even a paying member, just register with any mail in Forticloud and then use this mail to register/enable free permanent license on the FGT image. If you are completely new to all this, I did some screenshots how to do it but for VMWare https://yurisk.info/2022/08/08/Fortigate-free-VM-Evaluation-License-is-now-permanent-not-15-days/
EVE-NG is option as well, as you can download KVM-based images as well.
Fortigate VMs versions up to 7.2.1 had (and still have) built-in 14-days evaluation license, which exempts you from creating a free account on Forticloud, but you can't download these older images not having support contract.
The evaluation (it is confusing because of the same name) license you get from Fortinet Account Manager (when you are a partner/client of Fortinet) works 60 days and enables ALL features on FGT VM, no limitations whatsoever. While the free for all evaluation license has pretty strict limitations.
You may need to create a Fortinet account and try to download the image using this link https://support.fortinet.com/Download/VMImages.aspx
