At the login, Warning: this page requires javascript. To correctly view, please enable it in your browser. Problem: java script is installed. There are also other symptoms, but this relates to the flash disk / and or some logs becoming full. Power cycling may recover operations, but sometimes not, if the flash disk is too full. Context: FortiGate-40c with FortiOS v4.0,build0521,120313 (MR3 Patch 6). Yes I know I should be upgrading the Firmware, but for some reasons too long to explain here, I can' t, at least no for the moment. Just wanted to know if someone ever observed this, and if yes, what could possibly lead to it. Not found anything in the KB. TIA

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Basically this says that system memory is too low to support critical processes. See for instance here https://forum.fortinet.com/FindPost/105990 or the many other posts with this particular message. After a reboot you should be able to log back in. You can then monitor CPU and memory consumption in the CLI with ' diag sys top' . There are quite a few reasons for excessive ressource consumption, one of these being a memory leak in an outdated firmware version like 4.3.6. IMHO any version before 4.3.8 should be avoided. But of course IPS settings, excessive logging to memory, problems after an automatic update of the IPS or AV engine,... are equally probable.
