Hi Christian,
did you delete a user that had the super_admin profile, or did you delete the super_admin profile?
In the first case you can recreate the user if you have a different user that is a super_admin. If you deleted the profile, i'm not sure.. unless I'm mistaken the super_admin profile does not show in the config, so it would mean you'd have to factory reset the device.

Hello,
Is there any one have an idea regarding this issue as I have the same problem, and when I tried to reset the password using maintainer account I got below error message:
# config system admin
FG (admin) # edit admin
'maintainer' account can only edit existing admins.
node_check_object fail! for name admin
value parse error before 'admin'
Command fail. Return code -37
I dont know f there is a super admin account that I can't see, or it was deleted accidently.
Please your support.
same problem here
Take the console access of Fortigate and factory reset the FortiGate unit and press any key to display the boot menu. Select the option to boot into maintenance mode. It will prompt for a password, use the maintainer account credentials. You can access the CLI after that you can reset the password.
