Alert: reason=" name_invalid" . Why?

Hi all, I' m new to this forum and to Fortinet kit. We have a Fortigate 110C running 4.0MR1 firmware. I have everything working except for users. I mean, only the ' admin' account works when logging in via https or SSH ! I have created 2 Local users, and defined a RADIUS server for them that is accessible across the network. When logging on with these usernames, I get an error (below), there is no attempt to even begin going to the RADIUS server for authentication. Error message in full: 2009-10-21 13:33:26 Local4.Alert 10.x.x.50 date=2009-10-21 time=21:39:32 devname=fortigate110c device_id=FG100C3G09606351 log_id=0104041985 type=event subtype=admin pri=alert fwver=040000 vd=root user=" handsm" ui=ssh(10.x.x.43) action=login status=failed reason=" name_invalid" msg=" Administrator handsm login failed from ssh(10.x.x.43) because of invalid user name"

Hello and welcome, did you read admin guide at least? You could get from http://docs.fortinet.com/fgt.html it' s the good start if you' re new to fortinet kit. There' s a chapter explaining how use radius as external authentication for administrative users. regards,

regards
