Akamai

Has anyone come up with a Firewall Policy that successfully allows communication with Akamai sites that are accessed when obtaining updates from companies such as Adobe, Trend Micro and Java? I know that the Akamai sites that are contacted are despersed, which causes the problem. For example I can create a Firewall Policy for the various manufactures update sites but when they subsequently connect to the Akamai site that responding traffic doesn' t match the original Firewall Policy. I' ve been struggling with this for years and have implemented one kluge after another, but nothing has been a reliable solution.

I am running into a similar issue trying to traffic shape video that' s ultimately hosted on Akamai servers. I was looking at creating a separate policy just for groups of Akamai IP' s. Not a great solution, though. I' m curious what you' ve worked out as a kluge. . .
