Accessing an inaccessible Fortimail 100

I have a Fortimail 100 that was at 4.0 that I needed to downgrade to 3.0. I did it thru the web interface. Now it' s inaccessible thru CLI or web interfaces. I read the 4.0 notes (which I freely admit I should have done first, now I know) only to find that you must downgrade from 4.0 to 3.0 by CLI only. Is there a way to reflash or factory reset an inaccessible fortinet unit?

Do you get anything when connecting the console cable? Factory reset (or TFTP reflash) at CLI through console connection is your best bet at this point.
