A JS error occured in the main process
Hey, in our environment we have a lot of FT VPN clients with different versions (majority is 7.0.7.0345), I want to deploy an update with Intune help, however I am encountering issues with update. I can successfully deploy FT client, however with update it is another story... so Intune manages the updates all good, however when I am trying to open new version of FT client I receive JavaScript error (please see the attachment), I tried installing 2015-2022 VC redist, but it is no luck (please note that I do not have older versions of VC redist). Maybe someone has a workaround / solution and willing to share ?

Hello,
Specified bug record as per below.
0949939 -
JavaScript error occurs in main process. |
You can find under-resolved issues with 7.2.3.
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.2.3/windows-release-notes/22791/resolved-issues
Please make sure you are trying to check behavior either with 7.2.3,7.2.4.

Hey, so tried updating Forticlient from 7.0.7.0345 to 7.2.4.0972 and it was indeed successful I did not encounter any issue related to JS error, however it cached somehow my credentials, which I do not like, tried cleaning cookies however it didn't help, maybe you have solution for this too ?
And what about future ? If I would try to update to more newer version f.e 7.4 / 7.6 would JS error occur once again ? Thank you

Hello,
Starting from 7.2.4 we have an option for <use_gui_saml_auth>
Please revise options based on the newly introduced control.
Additionally, make sure the Save Password option has been disabled on your profile.
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.2.4/xml-reference-guide/858086/ssl-vpn
If any issue arises I would suggest raising a Forticare ticket follow-up further.
About the future based on the JS error, I would suggest checking release notes against known issues for specific versions 7.4, and 7.6 once it has been released.
If none are available, proceed with a pilot group of a few test users, monitor their behavior, and then expand the deployment to a larger group of users.
