Hi. Has anyone else experienced the FortiAP constantly disconnecting after the upgrade to 7.4.2 onFortiGate? I have different FortiGates and they were all doing the same thing. The access points have to be rebooted to show up as connected and they will disconnect again. I had to downgrade back to 7.4.1 which resolved the issue. EVERY upgrade to Fortigate in the past year or so has had a major brake. It is NOT OK to list something as a known issue and still go ahead and release the upgrade
Any solutions?
We downgraded to 7.4.1 ,will see how it is now
I've been having the same issues with 7.4.2, AP is accessible over SSH but shows up as offline in fortigate.
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c wtp shows:
last failure : 8 -- Control message maximal retransmission limit reached
I am seeing the same issue. Those gates on 7.4.1 are fine, the three that I updated to 7.4.2 are having issues. I thought it was POE on the switch until the 3rd site was updated and it's running different brand switches. I enabled syslog on the AP profile and it's super not helpful. I'm going to try @tech833 post on one of my sites now.
I'm having the same issue "Control message maximal retransmission limit reached".
Fortigate is on 7.4.3, ap's on 7.4.0.
Found this thread -
After applying the echo-interval and max-retransmit config changes we haven't had the same AP drop behavior. Hope this might help someone else.
Dear,
Same issue with 2 fortigate 60E in combination with FAP221E.
After the upgrade to 7.4.3 the issue appears, set the max rertransmit and echo interval to Maximum.
Now see if the issue has been resolved.
The option of @tech833 i didn't try yet.
Did someome have a working solution?
Just to add some data to this:
Customer site 1:

Rolled back to 7.2.8 no outages since
Site 2
FW 40F on 7.4.2
SW 124E-POE
AP 221E x4
currently rolling the FW back to the same
