Hi,
we have FGT90G with 7.4.7 and 4 FortiAPs with 7.4.X - everything working without any problems for almost one year. We didnt change anything and this morning all FortiAPs show offline in Managed Forti APs.
No changes were made in interface and everything is still enabled. Since they have fixed IP we can access and ping them without problems.
So with ping there should not be any interface/ switch / power issue but we tried connecting one AP directly on the interface on the FG and the same result. We tried with this AP also de and authorize and still offline.
We restarted wireless controller demon and still no difference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
To troubleshoot the issue of all FortiAPs showing as offline, follow these steps:
- Use the sniffer command on the FortiGate to check if CAPWAP communication is occurring between the FortiAPs and the FortiGate:
diagnose sniff packet <interface_name> "port 5246" 6 0 l
If you do not see CAPWAP packets, there might be a network issue preventing communication.
- Ensure that the FortiAPs are authorized on the FortiGate. You can check this in the FortiGate GUI under WiFi & Switch Controller > Managed FortiAPs.
- On the FortiGate, run the following command to gather more information about the WTP status:
diagnose wireless-controller wlac -c wtp
This will provide insights into the connection state and any potential issues.
- If the issue persists, collect logs from both the FortiGate and FortiAPs for further analysis.
Use the following commands:
diagnose debug console timestamp enable
diagnose debug application cw_acd 0x7fff
diag debug enable
- After collecting logs for a few minutes, stop the debug:
diag debug dis
diag debug reset
diagnose debug application cw_acd 0
