I would have loved to use Fortinet, but I needed a wireless network last August, not ___ months from now. If I told the customer that wasn' t possible for ___ months, I would look like a complete fool.
Cisco actually has a relatively new model called AP541N, which is part of the Small Business Pro line-up. They cluster together without a separate controller, so I have no additional hardware in the rack, and it' s a job the FGT doesn' t need to (and couldn' t) do. See details here: http://alturl.com/8kzwm
I hate Cisco' s website, and they update firmware as little as possible, but the AP' s do work as advertised. I have 70+ day uptime on the AP541N' s right now powered via PoE switch and they are going strong. I installed four AP' s and I turned most of them down to 75% signal because the coverage was so strong.
Next time, hopefully Fortinet has a complete and fully supported line-up for me to recommend.
