Hi All,
I'm looking to replace 301E machines, with options being either the 120G or 201G.
Looking at just the throughput stats would suggest the 120G is very close in capability to the 301E. However the the 120G has a single SP5 processor with integrated NP7Lite and CP10 processors. Whereas the 201G has independent NP7Lite and CP10 processors. Not sure how this will affect performance.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Has anyone already replaced their 301E's and if so what did you go for?
Many thanks
Stuart.
Based on Product Life Cycle information the suggested replacement model is FG-401E.
Hi Stuart
In addition to Emirjon's response, try contact your local Fortinet account manager or your Fortinet reseller to ask for a "Trade Up".
That will allow Fortinet to suggest the right replacement appliance and will allow you to get a very interesting discount.
Thank you both, and yes, already working with the Forti reps who recommended 401F. However throughput spec's on this device are over twice that of a 301E and priced accordingly.
Whereas the 120G is very close to the 301E specification but with a different processor architecture.
Just looking to see if anyone had any experience with 120G performance when compared to something like the 301E before I make a decision.
Thanks.
