100A to 100d model can I backup and restore config settings

I am looking to upgrade my 100A to a 100D and wonder if I can back up my config settings and upload to the 100d model as it would be a huge hassle to set up everything all over again. Do any of you know if this is possible?

Yes it is possible to move/migrate one config from one model to another model. If the " to" model has different ports you will have to rename the port references in the old 100A config to those on the 100D config. There are already several threads on this very topic -- just use the search link (at the top of this page).

I recently did this. I first matched the 100A and 100D to the same 4.0 MR3 firmware. I downloaded the config of the 100A. You need to rename any references to the DMZ1 interface to just DMZ and completely remove the DMZ2 interface reference. If you weren' t actually using DMZ1, just remove it as well. If you don' t, you will end up with DMZ, DMZ1, and DMZ2 and you won' t be able to delete DMZ1 and DMZ2 since the CLI will tell you that you can' t since they are physical interfaces. After I uploaded the modified config to the 100D, I checked things over and then upgraded to 5.0.2.
