Description
The RMA Contract and Service Transfer Option is available when creating RMA tickets through the Support Portal at support.fortinet.com
This feature can be used to avoid having to manually register the replacement unit received from an RMA request.
The option appears at the foot of the 'Shipping and Billing Information' screen.
Use of this feature is optional and the default setting is off.
Scope
RMA. Registration of replacement unit. Transfer of service contracts.
Solution
This feature automatically transfers registration and service contracts from the defective unit to the replacement unit. When this option is selected the following actions will occur:
- De-registration of the defective unit.
- Auto-registration of the replacement unit shipped by Fortinet.
- Transfer of all contracts/licenses from the defective unit to the replacement unit.
The transfer will occur upon the shipment of the replacement unit from Fortinet.
This feature is not available for products with an active Premium RMA contract.
