Hi,
In our system, we usually download the .mcs file or hex file from our PC/Laptop to our FPGA or Microcontroller using Ethernet and for this purpose we've been using Ethernet Switches for connecting our multiple devices. Apart from downloading the .mcs or hex files, we communicate with the devices using TCL as well. We've recently switched from Hirschmann Ethernet Switches to "fortinet fortiswitch rugged 112d-poe" and the session keeps on timing out when we download a bigger file (2MB) using the Fortinet switch. Previously, on the Hirschmann we had a similar problem, and there is a feature called "HiDiscovery" on it and when we disabled it, everything started to work fine and we could multiple files on our devices but on the "fortinet switch" we've not been able to do so. So far, I've done the following to no use.
1. Disable auto-discovery-fortilink from the CLI
2. Turn off LLDP and STP from the Web Based GUI and CLI
3. Noticed that the speed of the ports on the GUI was different on different ports, but matched them to 100M duplex. (Not sure that would've been the issue, but did it anyways)
4. Increased the auto-discovery-fortilink-packet-interval to 300 (MAX)
5. Increased the timeout session of the switch from the GUI to max (I suppose this only keeps the web interface session alive for a longer time)
6. Have literally disabled every other setting but to no use.
It seems like that when we download a smaller file it works okay and in case of larger file it timeouts and breaks the connection for a while then comes back up but if the comms break in our system then it needs to be reset. What we want is a continuous connection between the PC and our devices.
Any help from the experts would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Regards
Salman
