Wifi Access Points problems

Good afternoon,

we have a fortigate 100 system and 10 FortiAP 221C-E Ap's at our network.

The Wifi Connection is very bad. The wifi speed is 1 mb/s - 2 mb/s. We do a lot of things on the controller, but nothing help us.

Sorry for my bad english.

The APs have the current firmware?

What kind of network cables are used? (CAT xx)

Do you have the problems also when you connect a notebook or PC?

Thanks for the fast answer. We have the current firmware and the problem is since 1-2 years.

Network Cable: CAT 6

Problems: connect via mobile and notebook = low wifi speed

Ways to Fix Problem With Wireless Adapter and Access Point Error
Make sure your wireless adapter is on.
Disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network.
Check the configuration of the wireless network connection.
Forget the wireless network and connect again from scratch.

Reboot your access point.

We have do all the things you mentioned. Also the reboot of our FortiAP 221C. Only the first 1-2 minutes the download speedrate goes up to 100-200 mb/s after 10 minutes the speedrate goes down to 1-2 mb/s

HI @UserY

Can you please verify the below and share the information

>The clients are connecting to 2.4 or 5 GHz band?

>What is the current transmit power set on FAP profile ?

>Health status of the AP shows good?

>What is the signal strength level at which the client connects to wifi?- this can be changed on wifi client monitor

>Check channel utilization on the AP,  refer to the below article

https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiAP/Troubleshooting-Tip-Channel-utilization-is-reported-high-o...

>Check if all the APs are operating on same channel?if yes, this will increase the channel utilization and interference which will reduce the throughput of the clients.

Hello @manasac & everybody,

we do the troubleshooting tips. But nothing works. We have 2 Wifi SSIDs 1: Wifi0 2: Wifi1

the download rate on Wifi0 is between 70-100mb/s and the Wifi1 download rate is between 5-10 mb/s both are in our networkserver. We also compare the settings of Wifi0 and Wifi1 changes aren't helpfully
