FortiClient VPN Update

Hi I've updated my Home office User from FortiClient 6.0.9 to 7.0.3 manually.

With 6.0.9 We've a tool to modify the installer to VPN only.

With 7.0.3 I download FortiClientVPNSetup_7.0.3.0193_x64.exe.

But Now I see in the console that the FortiClient try to Update something every day

But my user has no right to update something so it fails everyday.

Is there an option to block the forticlient to call to the cloud?

Thanks for any hint

Hi

Currently we use 7.0.5.0238.

After installation we rename

%ProgramFiles%\Fortinet\FortiClient\update_task.exe

to

update_task.exe_

Then no more Updates are possible.

This fix it for us.

Hi
no, I believe there is no option like that, did you uninstall previously installed FCT ? Can you try to uninstall/install again ?

thanks

Hi

Thank you for your replay.

Yes I uninstall 6.0.9 and after Reboot I install 7.0.3.

It doesn't change when I uninstall/install again ?

We have the same issue with Version 7.0.2.0090 unable to update to the newest version.

Should it be able to automatically update and is there any specific guidance that can be given as to fix?

We have tested on multiple computers with and without anti-virus software and issue persists.
