Description This article describes how to restore a FortiWeb unit after RMA.
Scope FortiWeb.
Solution

RMA license transfer:

When receiving the replacement unit, if the RMA auto transfer option was not chosen when creating the RMA, it will be necessary to transfer the support contract to the replacement unit as follows:

 

  1. Login to https://support.fortinet.com.
  2. Select Asset Management.

  3. Select the Serial Number of the defective unit.

  4. Select RMA Transfer

  5. Enter the new serial number of the replacement unit and select Replace.

Firmware upgrade:

 

The RMA unit may not come with the same firmware version as the one used, so it is necessary to upgrade to the version that matches the version used in the backup on the faulty unit.

 

  1. How to manually download and upgrade the FortiWeb firmware image on FortiWeb.
  2. Get all signatures updates using the following command:

 

execute update-now

 

Configuration restore:

 

Standalone scenario:

  • If the node was being used as a standalone, go to System -> Maintenance -> Backup & Restore and select the Backup & Restore tab, then select Restore.

HA cluster scenario:
