Description

This article describes how to understand the type of backup collected to have a better understanding of what is included.

 

Options include:

  1. Full backup with Machine-learning data included.
  2. Full backup with Machine-learning data not included.
  3. CLI configuration backup.
  4. Web Protection Profile-related configuration backup.
Scope FortiWeb.
Solution

Option 1: From the name of the backup zip file where:

  • Full backup files, whether including ML data or not, will have system.conf at the end of the file name.
    ex. FWEB1_20241016094954_system.conf
  • The CLI configuration backup files will have system_no_defaults at the end of the file name.
    ex. FWEB1_20241016095026_system_no_defaults.conf
  • The Web Protection Profile-related configuration backup will have system_profile.conf at the end of the file name.
    ex. FWEB1_20241016095051_system_profile.conf

 

Option 2: By extracting the config file and checking the values of the type and file_number values where:

  • For full backup with Machine-learning data included:
